Interior Designer

Primary Function: The Designer develops space plans and designs for commercial building interiors based on client needs. Creates functional and aesthetic designs that help boost productivity, increase sales, attract customers, or enhance a workspace.

Essential Functions:
  • Plans the use and layout of client workspaces.
  • Researches appropriate product lines to use.
  • Develops 2D and/or 3D drawings and renderings.
  • Develops specifications, cost estimates and procures installation quotes.
  • Selects finishes and assists in preparing presentations as needed.
  • Double checks all projects for accuracy.
  • Prepares installation documents.
  • Completes punch list if necessary.
  • Accurately records all billable and non-billable time.
  • Frequent direct client contact; daily interaction with sales team.
  • Also works with operations, project coordinators and installers.
  • Support the sales team by utilizing these tools: DDMS, Lynx, Project Spec, Solutions Central, TriMega Purchasing Association, My Resource Library (MRL), vendor sites
Additional Responsibilities
  • Works as part of a team of designers, providing assistance and backup as needed.
  • Assists with maintenance of electronic vendor resources, the design library and resource room.
  • Continuous learning to stay abreast of current trends and products.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in design and with 2-5 years of experience, preferably in commercial furniture industry.
  • Knowledge of commonly used design concepts, practices, procedures and codes within the commercial design field.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D rendering software (SketchUp a plus), specification software and Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Multitasking, organizational and collaboration skills.
  • Creative and decisive.

Office Furniture Salesperson

Experienced hunter whose primary function is acquiring and servicing office furniture accounts in the greater Louisville, KY area. Must have prior experience in the contract office furniture industry.

Installer Apprentice

Lead Installer

To lead the installation crew and be responsible for correct installation of product.

Essential Functions:
  • Meet with Account Managers and Designers prior to installation to review all aspects of project.
  • Assist Account Mangers and Designers with Installation/Product knowledge to ensure an excellent installation.
  • Work with other trades when necessary to ensure completion of project.
  • Complete all paperwork, installation/delivery forms.
  • Meet with Project Coordinator, if needed after an installation to determine if replacement parts need to be ordered to complete job.
  • Ensure all jobs punch-listed to meet Office Environment Company standards meaning excellent.
  • Perform delivery and installation of furniture.
  • Perform site clean-up and debris removal leaving it in a ready to use condition.
  • Keep Office Environment Company vehicles clean and free of all debris.
  • Check items for damage/shortages on each delivery and installation.
  • Tag any product returned to Office Environment Company for credit/loan/returns and repair and notify proper personnel.
  • Drive any and all Office Environment Company vehicles necessary.
  • Train new installers/helpers on correct procedures and techniques.
  • Find solutions to complete installation, even when parts are missing or damaged.
  • Lead the installation crew when called upon.
  • Follow safety procedures and policies.
Addtional Responsibilities
  • Lead outside installation company personnel.
  • Meet company standards for attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Be a Certified Haworth Installer
  • Warehousing/Delivery experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Be able to lift heavy objects in excess of 75 lbs.
  • Have a good customer service skills
